Every year a group of students interested in public service work participate in a program called Management Skills for Public Service. In this series, professionals in the government and nonprofit arenas are recruited to teach subjects such as strategic planning, budgeting, and human resources. Throughout the workshop series, the 27 students have also been divided into teams to create a proposal for a nonprofit which has turned into a case study competition. The winning team will receive a donation from Northwestern Mutual to impart to a local nonprofit organization.
