[PAST EVENT] The Merry Wives of Windsor
February 21, 2013
8pm - 10pm
By tradition, written at Queen Elizabeth's command for a play showing Falstaff in Love, The Merry Wives of Windsor is Shakespeare's only play that deals with English life in his own time. The fat knight tries to seduce Mistress Ford and Mistress Page, but these original desperate housewives have the last laugh. Ancient Pistoll and Corporeal Nym wander in from other Shakespeare plays to join Sir Hugh the Welsh Knight, Justice Shallow, his cousin Slender, and even the village children, in this antic comedy wrapped around a tender young romance.
