Judge Barzilay's speech will focus on the relationship between adjudications at the Court of International Trade and its appellate court, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the broader world of international law. As the United States has entered into more and more trade related international treaties and obligations, the interactions between domestic trade law and international law have grown increasingly complex. Her talk will use several recent CIT cases to illustrate how these complexities affect the rights and remedies available to litigants and to suggest improvements in our ability to create a uniform and consistent trade system.
