Please join William & Mary Law School's Black Law Students Association for our annual symposium. Assiduous health disadvantages continue among African Americans and other minorities despite efforts to resolve the historical and present effects of race discrimination in America. These experiences with racism and discrimination coupled with deficiencies in health care services, education, and access, further exacerbate disease incidence within the minority populations. The symposium will attempt to examine these interacting issues from a variety of disciplinary perspectives to highlight contemporary discriminatory practices and discuss effective, concentrated methods to reduce health disparities in minority populations.

Our distinguished panelists include:

Vivian Dicks, Ph.D., M.P.H.

Elyas Bakhtiari, Ph.D.

Rebecca Hester, Ph.D.

Stacy Kern-Scheerer, J.D. M.P.H.

Laura Heymann, J.D. (Moderator)

Please RSVP. There will be a light reception to follow.
