Miramar, the group, aims to capture poetry through their music. Miramar’s core repertoire includes music from all over Latin America with a spotlight on women composers and music from Puerto Rico.
"Sankofa" is a legendary 1993 independent film by Ethiopian American director, Haile Gerima, who describes his work as "a resistance film" amplifying Black resistance to enslavement as a resource for resistance to continuing oppression.
