In 2020, students from the Asian American Student Initiative, in collaboration with the Center for Student Diversity and the Asian & Pacific Islander American Studies program, established a new tradition — the Khatalampay Ceremony.
In 2012, W&M graduating seniors adopted a new tradition — the Donning of the Kente Ceremony. This event recognizes the importance of Black and African heritage, culture and community in helping students achieve their aspirations.
In 2019, W&M graduating seniors adopted a new tradition — Ceremonia Raíces. This event is a heartfelt celebration of the cultural heritage and academic achievements of Hispanic, Latino/a/e and Indigenous/Native American students.
