[PAST EVENT] Reception: Christopher DeLaurenti at Andrews Gallery
January 17, 2013
4pm - 6pm
Please join us at the reception for "Thrill: A Love Song" by Christopher DeLaurenti at Andrews Gallery on Thursday, January 17 from 4 - 6 pm.
Exhibition and reception are free and open to the public and runs from Jan. 17 - 31, 2013. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Mon. - Fri.
Inspired by Elizabethan madrigals and remixed a cappella tracks dropped by club DJs, "Thrill: A Love Song" showcases an unsettling version of "You're My Thrill" sung by four jazz singers; the voices of Josephine Howell, Kelley Johnson, Dawn Clement, and Greta Matassa converge and dissolve into seductive duets, trios, and quartets.
Christopher DeLaurenti's sound work, performances, and installations have appeared at the Whitney Biennial (New York, 2012), Museum of Modern Art (New York, 2011), INSTAL 10 (Glasgow, 2010), Taipei Biennial (2009), and elsewhere. Visit {{http://www.delaurenti.net, DeLaurenti}} for things to see, hear, and read.
Andrews Gallery is on the campus of The College of William and Mary, in Andrews Hall, opposite Swem Library and to the rear of Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall on Jamestown Road. Parking permit may be required during the day. Call 757-221-4764 for parking information.
All are welcome to attend!
