The Art & Art History Department's "1939 Artist in Residence" Series welcomes photographer Cristina Z. Anderson for a lecture on the Tri-Color Gum historic photographic printing process.
This process consists of three or more layers of gum bichromate, usually printed with color separations, and usually printed in primary colors to produce a more or less realistic color representation. The Tri-Color Gum process incorporates aspects of photography, printmaking, painting, and certainly explorations in color. Christina Z. Anderson is a leading expert in the field of historic photographic printing processes, including the tri-color gum process.
