Who: Dr. Johnny Finn from Christopher Newport University
Title: Mapping environmental justice: From coal dust to climate gentrification in Southeastern Virginia
Description: In this lecture, urban geographer Johnny Finn will put the history of mapping and counter-mapping into conversation with contemporary research on environmental justice to interrogate the historical and contemporary dimensions of landscapes of environmental injustice in southeastern Virginia. Finn is an Associate Professor of Geography at Christopher Newport University, where he is also the Chair of the Department of Sociology, Social Work, and Anthropology.
