Abstract: One of the most important goals in biology is to understand the mechanisms by which biodiversity is maintained. For example, when multiple species compete for the same resource, then which conditions allow a stronger species to drive weaker ones to extinction and which
conditions allows species coexistence to occur? In this talk, I will mention some interesting mathematics that arises when trying to answer questions like these.
