Transcription and text encoding are two skills that are fundamental to digital humanities work and projects. Learn a bit about both in this workshop, which will also serve as a pre-event for W&M Libraries' Love Data Week: Transcribe-a-thon taking place all day February 15th in Swem Library's Ford Classroom.

This workshop will introduce the concepts of transcription and text encoding, using TEI Guidelines. Participants will learn the introductory concepts and get some hands-on practice. No previous experience is necessary.  Faculty and Graduate Students are welcome.
