[PAST EVENT] Conservation in Action: Student Conservation Research Proposal Presentations
Location
Zoom webinarAccess & Features
- Open to the public
W&M undergraduate students engaged in the 2021 Conservation Research Program will be presenting their research proposals on April 14th and 16th. Supported by the Charles Center and the Institute for Integrative Conservation, students in this program work alongside conservation partners and faculty mentors to complete applied, interdisciplinary research projects needed to advance real-world conservation action and policy. Given the complexity of conservation challenges, this suite of interdisciplinary projects leverages expertise across disciplines to advance global conservation solutions and to build the capacity of the next generation of conservation leaders. This conservation research program provides students with an opportunity to build and refine their research and professional skills, gain first-hand experience in conservation careers, and work with an interdisciplinary team to directly advance global conservation. W&M students are looking for feedback on their research proposals before they begin their applied research this summer.
Note: Half of the students in the Conservation Research Program will present their proposals at this event and the other half will present their proposal as part of the W&M Geospatial Research Symposium on April 16th from 1-4 pm. Hosted by the Center for Geospatial Analysis in collaboration with the Institute for Integrative Conservation, the symposium will feature a keynote speaker, a panel discussion, and student presentations focus on the real-world applications of GIS.
