Dr. Quarels obtained a B.S. in Chemistry with Honors through the College of Science and the DMRS Honors College at Southern University in Baton Rouge. As an assistant professor at Rowan University, Dr. Quarels is building a research program focused on developing new methodologies for building complex scaffolds in organic chemistry.  Dr. Quarels also serves as Board member-at-large for the National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers.
