Title: Effective Writing Habits Presentation
Abstract: Writing is difficult and can take up a lot of time. Learn some simple tricks for improving the clarity of your academic writing, as well as ways to become more efficient with the task. Readers expect information to flow in a particular way; understanding readers? expectations can help you write with greater clarity. This presentation will offer advice on establishing good writing habits and will explain how to make the most of the writing resources available to you on campus.
Bio: Sarah Glosson received her Ph.D. in American Studies from William & Mary. As director of the Graduate Center she supports student professional development and academic success through a variety of programs. Her research brings a cultural studies approach to the study of literature fans, theorizing practices related to reading, such as writing fanfiction and going on literary pilgrimage, as performative acts.
