[PAST EVENT] Faces of Veterans: a digital storytelling exhibition across campus
Location
Location not specifiedAccess & Features
- Open to the public
William & Mary students, faculty, and staff are invited to share stories in a pop-up exhibition across campus entitled Faces of Veterans. Stories can be told in creative formats, as long as they can be consumed and stored digitally. Exhibit displays will consist of electronic tablets and audio headphones to facilitate an interactive story experience for the audience.
Submissions should ideally focus on stories about a veteran’s civilian life before the military, military experience, and transition back into civilian life, particularly into higher education. Further discussion could include reasons for enlistment, combat experiences, and the effects that the military experiences have had on the their lives or the lives of others.
Not a storyteller? You don’t have to be!
A digital storytelling workshop will be held on Thursday, April 4th, 2019 at 5 pm to assist participants in achieving their project goals and will provide tools to aid in the story design process. The workshop will take place in Swem’s Ford classroom. Please RSVP by April 3rd.
This project is made possible by a generous grant from the Diversity Endowment through the Office of Diversity & Inclusion at William & Mary.
