[PAST EVENT] Geology Fall Field Trip to Wachapreague!
October 19, 2012 - October 20, 2012
1pm - 8pm
Our departmental field trip is fast approaching! This semester, we'll head off to Wachapreague, on the Eastern Shore, on October 19-20.
We'll be boating to the nearby barrier islands; experiencing beach drift and longshore current (bring your swimsuits); calculating sediment transport and loss over the last few decades; dredging the bottom of the Atlantic to sample sea urchins, snails, sponges and clams; and exploring pyrite formation in mudflats. If you like marine science and lots of fresh air, this is the field trip for you! The field trip fee is $20. Sign-up with Carol in the geology department before all the slots are taken!
