The death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg on September 18, 2020 occasions a reflection on her status as a feminist icon and particular kind of Supreme Court justice dedicated to equality under the law. What do we take to be her legacy? How can we think about the working of legal change, its promises, and its limitations through Ginsburg’s career? And what does the future hold for feminist jurisprudence? Please join GSWS faculty for an informal conversation that allows us to celebrate and assess one of the most important figures of feminist legal action of the recent past. Our conversation will be moderated by Professor Claire McKinney (Government/GSWS).
