Día de Muertos Altar Exhibition
Access & Features
- Open to the public
The Modern Languages department would like to invite you to visit the Día de Muertos Altar. We are expanding the popular Mexican Día de Muertos holiday by honoring the dead and celebrate the lives of influential figures from various cultures and disciplines, particularly those associated with the eight languages taught in the Modern Languages department. Our public altar will include bright, creative visual elements, symbolic offerings, photographs, and written reflections that showcase the contributions of exceptional individuals from across the globe, representing multiple communities and cultures, who contributed to advancing democracy, social justice, music, art, and community engagement.
Sponsored by: Modern Languages & Literatures, Charles Center, Reves Center, Dean of Arts & Sciences, Center for the Liberal Arts, Latin American Studies, Hispanic Studies Program.
