Join us for a talk with Jack Trammel, author of The Richmond Slave Trade: The Economic Backbone of the Old Dominion. Event will take place in the library's Botetourt Theatre and Gallery from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and will include a reception. Enjoy light refreshments and view items from the library's special collections. Jack Trammel is a professor at Randolph-Macon College and author of The Richmond Slave Trade: The Economic Backbone of the Old Dominion. In the book, Trammel traces the history of the city's slave trade, from the origins of African slavery in Virginia to its destruction at the end of the Civil War. The event will include a reception.
