The newly-established IIC Student Leadership Council strives to help cultivate and support a network of conservation thought leaders on campus by identifying new research opportunities, representing the broad interests and feedback of students, and organizing inclusive events that inspire the community to engage in integrative conservation. The council's inaugural event, Trailblazing Women in Conservation, will be held in person and over Zoom on December 1st. We will be highlighting a panel of hard-working women who have blazed a trail in the conservation field, forging a path that is more inclusive and just and widening discourse that engages underrepresented and/or marginalized voices. The panel will share personal and professional insights and experiences that have informed their journey in the field. A moderator will help facilitate a discussion between the panelists and will prepare a set of questions and topics that have been collected from attendees. Panelist conversation is expected to last approximately 45 minutes, followed by a Q&A session. The virtual event is scheduled to be an hour to an hour and a half, beginning at 7:30 pm EST. We hope to see you there!
