The South Asian American Digital Archive (SAADA) is now accepting applications from undergraduate and graduate students seeking internship positions. Interns are an important part of the SAADA team and can take leadership roles on projects and contribute significantly to the success of the organization.
SAADA is the only independent non-profit organization working to document the rich history of South Asians in the United States and ensuring that our community's important stories are protected and preserved for future generations.

Internships available for the Winter/Spring 2013 Semester (January - May
2013)
*Marketing Internship*
SAADA is seeking one student for its Marketing Internship. With guidance and support from SAADA's Director of Marketing, the intern will be assist in developing and executing a marketing strategy for the organization,
including:
* Helping to define the current landscape of SAADA's stakeholders * Conducting phone (or in-person) interviews to understand stakeholder needs * Conducting secondary research to further inform interview findings * Generating strategic marketing insights by analyzing user data * Presenting findings and recommendations to SAADA's Board of Directors
*Eligibility:* Must be based in Philadelphia and able to commit 10+ hours/week for the duration of the Winter/Spring semester. Preference will be given to those with a demonstrated interest in marketing and who possess an entrepreneurial spirit. The intern will work in SAADA's office at 1219 Vine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107. This is an unpaid internship position.
*Digitization & Metadata Internship*
SAADA is seeking one student for its Digitization & Metadata Internship.
With guidance from the SAADA's Executive Director, the interns will be responsible for:
* Helping to research and identify materials for inclusion in the archive * Digitizing materials according to accepted digital preservation standards
* Processing digitized materials to prepare them for upload to the SAADA website * Creating metadata for digitized materials according to archival standards
*Eligibility:* Must be based in Philadelphia and able to commit 10+ hours/week for the duration of the Winter/Spring semester. Must be able to work independently and pay attention to detail. The intern will work in SAADA's office at 1219 Vine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107. This is an unpaid internship position.
We select interns based on their interest in archives, digital media, South Asian American history or other relevant interests. We encourage applications from all fields and degrees.
If you are currently enrolled as a student in a degree program, you can earn credit for your participation in the SAADA Internship Program! To receive course credit, contact your advisor to ask whether your program accepts credit for internship experiences. Once you receive confirmation, please include this information in your application.
