The Virginia Bar Association is the Commonwealth's original state-wide bar group. Founded in 1888, the VBA continues to advance the highest ideals of the legal profession through advocacy, education, and volunteer service. William & Mary's Student Council permits students to enjoy free VBA membership and access to the resources and opportunities of Virginia's only voluntary state-wide bar group.

The VBA Law School Council seeks to provide students of William & Mary Law School with opportunities to meet, engage, and learn from Virginia practitioners, as well as volunteer for community service efforts. If you're considering practicing in Virginia or D.C., this is an excellent opportunity to begin to meet Virginia lawyers, get involved in your community, and glimpse the profession.
