[PAST EVENT] Scalia-Ginsburg Collegiality Speaker Series: Judges Jordan and Newsom
Access & Features
- Registration/RSVP
The Institute of Bill of Rights Law is pleased to launch the Scalia-Ginsburg Collegiality Speaker Series. The series brings together pairs of advocates, judges, and legal scholars who share a warm friendship even if they do not always see the law in the same way. Inspired by the well-known friendship between the Justices for which it is named, the hope of the series is to explore tools for collegiality in a legal world that is becoming deeply divided on partisan lines.
Our first speakers are both federal appellate judges on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals: Judge Kevin Newsom (appointed by President Trump) and Judge Aldaberto Jordan (appointed by President Obama). Please join us at 1:00 on Wednesday, April 20th in Room 124 to hear from these judges about how they work together, navigate disagreements, and strive for collegiality without sacrificing zealous advocacy and fidelity to the law. Lunch will be provided for the first 70 guests who register.
