[PAST EVENT] Domestic Abuse and Reproductive Justice Panel
If/When/How (Lawyering for Reproductive Justice) believes that achieving reproductive justice will take thoughtful action and strategic activism: acknowledging the intersection of identities, collaborating across disciplines, and working toward a critical transformation of the current legal system. Because ensuring that all people have the right to decide if/when/how to create families depends entirely on if, when, and how hard we fight.
The panel is open to the school.
It will take place in Room 124 from 1-1:50 p.m. on Nov. 3, and we are planning on providing lunch. Eric Garrison, clinical and forensic sexologist will give an introduction and answer any inquiries on the more emotional and internal connection between abuse and how one perceives her/his own autonomy. Professor Barna will speak about our school's particularly relevant clinics & how to get involved through Legal Aid and other local shelters. Liz Cascone from The Haven will speak about the different forms of abuse victims face. By the time the students leave, we would like them all to have an idea on how to get involved (a plan of action) in our community.
