The Mediation Society and the Environmental Law Society are proud to present a lunchtime talk by Professor Erin Ryan about a fascinating case involving water rights and the public trust doctrine. Her entertaining story traces the efforts of the thirsty city of Los Angeles to secure water for its population from hundreds of miles away near Yosemite National Park. Professor Ryan will describe the history that led to litigation over the steady depletion of the water from the Mono Lake Basin. She will also highlight points where more productive negotiation might have helped to resolve the conflict sooner. Please bring your lunch and join us for this great talk!
