Please join us for a special speaker presentation by Michael C. Farley, CEO of Elk Hill and co-founder of the Makindu Children?s Program, supporting vulnerable children in Makindu Kenya.

Mr. Farley has served as Elk Hill?s Director of Programs, becoming Executive Director in 1999 and Chief Executive Officer in 2012. Elk Hill is a non-profit organization advocating for mental and behavioral health for over 400 at risk boys and girls ages four to twenty-one, most from low-income families.

Mr. Farley is also a co-founder of the Makindu Children?s Program. After serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Makindu Kenya in the late 1970s, an experience that had a significant, positive impact on his life, Mr. Farley not only became an advocate of the Makindu community, but also an active supporter, creating ?The Proper Walk? a unique fundraising experience.

The Proper Walk is dedicated to raising the awareness of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Sub-Sahara Africa and the children left in its wake. Since 2002 eight Proper Walks have covered 1350 miles in the Great Rift Valley and have raised over $730,000 for the Makindu Children?s program. In 2005 the National Geographic magazine covered ?The Proper Walk? in a wonderful article that can be read at the link below.
