This Friday afternoon starting at 4 pm (in place of colloquium), we’ll have a special event we’re calling the "Raft Debate: Physics Edition" where three of our faculty will discuss the merits of their area of physics: small experiments (Irina Novikova), big experiments (Patricia Vahle) and theory (Chris Monahan), with Warren Buck serving as our Devil’s Advocate.

This should be a fun event and we encourage you to invite your friends who may be interested in physics but aren’t already part of the department to join us on Friday. Following the debate at 4:45 pm there will be an open house where students can mingle with faculty in these different areas of physics and learn more about the department. Please feel free to forward this message to those who may be interested.

We look forward to seeing you on Zoom at 4 pm on Friday for the debate!
