Abstract:
A brief introduction to NMR quantum information processing is given. NMR is the only commercially available quantum computer at the moment and widely used to demonstrate quantum algorithms and to develop techniques necessary for building a reliable quantum computer. NMR QIP has also limitations, with which NMR cannot be the final candidate of a working quantum computer in its current form. Lecture plan is 1. Introduction to quantum information and quantum computing 2. NMR spectrometer and NMR Hamiltonian 3. Pseudo pure states 4. One-qubit gates 5. Two-qubit gates 6. DiVincenzo criteria and limitations of NMR QIP
