The Schroeder Center for Health Policy is pleased to host a talk on "Coverage for Behavioral Health in State Medicaid Programs" by Heather Saunders, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Kaiser Family Foundation's Program on Medicaid and the Uninsured. Dr. Saunders’ research “focuses on behavioral health policy, workforce adequacy, and health care delivery for people with disabilities.” She received her Master of Social Work (MSW) and PhD in Healthcare Policy and Research from Virginia Commonwealth University. While at VCU, she led and participated in studies related to Virginia Medicaid waiver programs, and she presented Medicaid program evaluation findings to policymakers.
Dr. Saunders' talk is part of the Schroeder Center’s continuing efforts to educate students about a broad array of public policies related to healthcare and population health.
