Join the Virginia Coastal Resilience Collaborative at William & Mary for an introduction to the world of homeowners’ insurance and how the new reality of worsening and more frequent disasters are changing the landscape of insurance in Virginia. This half-day symposium will explore how insurance functions, discuss the different types of insurance, examine drivers of change in insurance, and feature renowned experts from both Virginia and around the US. These include speakers from the Virginia Department of Conservation & Recreation, the state Bureau of Insurance, the Environmental Defense Fund, and more. Attendees will leave equipped with the knowledge and context necessary to understand the important role of insurance in resilience and evaluate increasing challenges facing the insurance industry.
