[PAST EVENT] Lecture-recital on the Native American flute
December 3, 2015
7:30pm
The event is free and open to the public.
According to an Albuquerque Journal article, Pellerite spent much of his life mastering the classical flute, studying it at Juilliard, playing it with the Philadelphia Orchestra and teaching it at Indiana University's School of Music.
He was introduced to the wooden, Native American flute after moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1993 and has since worked to master that instrument, too, giving performances across the country and promoting new compositions.
Pellerite will also perform two pieces for the Native American flute with the William & Mary Symphony Orchestra in Phi Beta Kappa Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 4.
