Join us for an online version of our popular Scientist Walks Into a Bar program. Normally held at local breweries, we are now bringing this event into your home! Grab your favorite beverage and relax with us as three VIMS graduate students give a quick overview of their research during a 5-minute fast talk. A 10-minute Q&A session will take place after each fast talk, during which you will be able to ask the students questions about their research via the Zoom chat feature. Presenters and topics for the evening are:
Kristen Sharpe - "The Great Carbon Elevator: The Effect of Plankton Poop on our Climate!"
Kayla Cahoon - "Re-interpreting 120,000 Years of Sea-Level Change: Why it Matters Today"
Challen Hyman - "Marsh Madness: Nurseries for Blue Crabs in Lieu of Seagrass Beds"
This event is free, but registration is required. You will receive a link to the event in your email once you register. Everyone that attends will be able to enter into a drawing for prizes! Sign up now to join us for a fun evening of science!
