Come learn about the technologies currently being used to explore our oceans, including remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), human-operated vehicles (HOVs), and autonomous underwater vehicles (also known as AUVs or gliders). Test your engineering skills by building and operating your own ROV, and explore the concept of density and how it relates to a glider's movement. Join our speaker, VIMS professor Donglai Gong, as he explains how AUVs are being used in physical and chemical oceanography to increase knowledge and understanding of our oceans.
