Blue crabs are one of the most easily recognizable and widely appreciated species in Chesapeake Bay. In addition to their ecological importance, they also play an important role in our region as a source of food, jobs, and revenue. Special guest speaker Haley Jenkins, a senior at Gloucester High School, will explore the anatomy, life history, and importance of blue crabs in Chesapeake Bay. Participants will be able to observe live and preserved specimens, as well as participate in hands-on activities and kid's crafts.
