The Alexander Hamilton Society, the John Quincy Adams Society, and the Global Research Institute are proud to present the first annual AHS/JQAS debate. This year AHS and JQAS welcome Dr. Robert Lieber and Dr. Eugene Gholz to the university to debate the following question: should America seek a more expansive, managerial global security role (primacy), or pare back its commitments and seek to avoid entanglement in most foreign wars (restraint)? There will be a Q&A session.
The debate will be moderated by Professor Peterson, and will take place on September 19th at 7:30 PM in Tidewater A. The event is free and Chick-Fil-A will be provided! See below for Speaker bios.

From 2010-2012, he served in the Pentagon as Senior Advisor to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy. He is the coauthor of two books: Buying Military Transformation: Technological Innovation and the Defense Industry, and U.S. Defense Politics: The Origins of Security Policy.
