Made by our own Environmental- Filmmaker-in-Residence Jes Therkelsen and some of his students, the Sustainability at W&M documentary depicts the incredible progress on sustainability at W&M in the past few years. The documentary highlights student projects, many of them supported by the student Green Fee, like the campus gardens, green roof research, and alternative transportation methods. Also shown are energy efficiency improvements and such innovative ideas as the composting program in the dining halls. The documentary discusses the creation of the Committee on Sustainability, including interviews with Phil Zapfel, the College's first full-time employee dedicated to sustainability. After the 15 minute screening, join fellow students, faculty, staff and administrators, including President Taylor Reveley and COS co-chairs Dennis Taylor and Lynda Butler, for a discussion of the future of sustainability at W&M.
