Two years ago a walk was started to raise awareness and provide hope for suicide prevention. Since then the walk has raised close to $20,000 for Suicide prevention and over 500 people have walked.

This year, please join us for the third annual William & Mary Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk. Headed by many organizations including Alpha Tau Omega, Student Assembly, and the Department of Health and Wellness, this walk partners with the Virginia Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Our goals are to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention, support positive mental health, and create a campus and community conversation about depression.

This is truly a community event. The walk is about coming together as a campus and in the greater Williamsburg/JCC area to bring issues and talk about suicide out of the darkness and into the light.

To register, and/or donate to the walk, go to our donor page.

For more information on depression and suicide prevention, go to the AFSP website.

Registration starts at 8am and the walk starts at 9am at the William & Mary Campus Recreation Center. We really hope to see you there!
