Did you know that 1 out of every 6 jobs in the United States is either directly or indirectly related to the ocean? The ocean is a very important part of American lives: over half of our country's population lives within 50 miles of the coast. In this lab, attendees will learn about a variety of different careers that are either directly or indirectly related to marine ecosystems. VIMS graduate student Taylor Goelz will describe how she works with a variety of different stakeholder groups in the Bay, representing different interests, to increase awareness and sustainability of oyster harvesting in the Bay.

This is the March installment of the 2019 Discovery Lab Series. Reservations to this free, family-friendly event are required due to limited space. Call 804-684-7061 for further information.
