Join us for the second in a series of events sponsored by TowneBank, bringing W&M leaders throughout Virginia together to discuss business challenges, partnerships and collaborations. The session will focus on the future of the Virginia workforce.

Alexis serves the Peninsula and Williamsburg, VA regions by providing stellar customer service, proactive financial solutions and extending a culture that creates a warm sense of belonging. She has 3 decades of banking industry experience and joined TowneBank in 2019. Alexis holds an MBA in Finance from William & Mary and a BBA in Marketing from Howard University. She also has a financial planning certification from Old Dominion University.

Alexis was appointed to the Board of Visitors of Virginia Commonwealth University by Governor Ralph Northam in 2019. She is also a board member for the United Way of Virginia Peninsula; Jamestown Yorktown Foundation Inc; Fear to Freedom; Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, and the Hampton Delta Foundation Inc.

Latoya Asia J.D. '09
Director of Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Dominion Energy

Latoya Asia is responsible for leading and developing strategic talent acquisition and workforce planning initiatives to promote a diverse and inclusive work culture that attracts and retains the best and brightest to work at Dominion Energy.  Prior to this role, Latoya served as a key and trusted advisor on labor & employment matters impacting the Company.  Among other things, she handled complex legal matters and managed internal resources to ensure the most efficient and satisfactory delivery of labor & employment legal services to the Company.

Before joining Dominion Energy, Latoya served as head of inclusion, diversity & belonging at a global risk assessment company where she partnered with executive and business leaders on strategy and programs to accelerate efforts to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse workforce.  Prior to that role, Latoya served as Director, Associate General Counsel at a financial services company where she provided day-to-day and strategic legal counsel on a range of matters impacting the company across the globe. Latoya also served as a Human Resources/Labor Relations Manager at a global petroleum manufacturing company where she provided strategic human resources leadership and support to senior leaders in various business units and managed labor relations activities at the company’s U.S. plants. Earlier in her career, Latoya worked as a labor & employment litigation attorney at an international law firm and taught at a K-12 school in Niamey, Niger.

Latoya is active in her community on issues relating to human rights and diversity & inclusion and serves in a leadership capacity on several boards.  She also serves as adjunct faculty at George Mason University’s School of Business, teaching a course on managing diversity in the workplace.

Latoya earned a J.D. from William & Mary School of Law and studied international law at La Universidad de San Pablo in Madrid, Spain.  She also earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Debbie Ratliff
Senior Director of Talent Engagement for University Advancement
William & Mary

Debbie is the Senior Director of Talent Engagement in the Office of University Advancement at William & Mary. Debbie and her team are responsible for all phases of talent engagement for the advancement office, from building a pipeline of talent to leading searches, hiring, onboarding and professional development programming, as well as DEI. Debbie works closely with the leadership team to design team structure and create new positions to meet the growing needs of the university. She has created standard hiring business practices for the team, which results in a consistent experience for applicants and candidates.

Immediately before joining the team at W&M, Debbie worked as a search consultant with Georgetown University’s office of advancement and was a principal recruiter in a retained search firm in the DC area. Prior to that, she worked in positions in international education and language training in the for profit and nonprofit words.

Debbie holds her MA in Russian literature and BA in English and Russian literature from the University of Virginia.


Kristen Vaughan ’00

Managing Director, Human Capital Practice Lead
Accenture Federal Services

Kristen Vaughan is a Managing Director at Accenture Federal Services, leading the Human Capital Practice.  She brings 20 years of experience in talent management, leadership development, learning, organization design, HR processes and systems, change enablement, and process improvement.  Her work at Accenture has centered on large scale business transformation efforts to prepare organizations for new processes and technology through transformational change.

Ms. Vaughan works across the federal sector with clients to understand organizational and workforce challenges and help solve issues across the hire-to-retire lifecycle. Her primary area of focus has been in the Department of Defense with clients across the Armed Services, the Intelligence Community, and the 4th Estate. She combines her extensive human capital experience with business process knowledge to help solve key workforce issues for clients.

Ms. Vaughan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Information Technology from William & Mary. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and an International Coach Federation (ICF) certified coach focusing on one-on-one and group coaching for executives. Ms. Vaughan lives in Arlington, VA with her husband and 3 kids and enjoys running, playing soccer, cooking, and cheering for the Washington Football Team, Nationals, and Capitals.
