The overarching theme is mental health and wellness, with a focus on resiliency. Dr. Burgin is an assistant professor in the Counselor Education program and program coordinator of the Military and Veterans Counseling program at W&M. She is focused on identifying culturally responsive and developmentally sensitive strategies for improving treatment efficacy and accessibility to mental health services, particularly in military populations. Dr. Crace will speak on "Flourishing through chronic too-much-ness". Dr. Crace is the Associate Vice President for Health & Wellness at William & Mary. He is a licensed psychologist and his research is focused the areas of values, flourishing, transition, and identity development. He studies stress and helps athletes, students, and teams understand the types of stress and how to deal with them.
