Education Week

November 14-18, 2022 is the third annual William & Mary Education Week. We take this opportunity to celebrate the people, projects and ideas that are driving the future of education. We'll be highlighting alumni teachers and educational leaders, as well as the students who will become the next generation of educators. This year, we're offering a range of in-person and virtual opportunities to connect and learn with fellow educators.

Our 2022 theme is Strong and Just Institutions.

Highlights include:

  • We're encouraging students, faculty and staff to Take Ten during a series of afternoon activities designed to de-stress and make connections.
  • What a ‘Just’ System of Education Would Look Like: a panel discussion on the inaugural Report Card on the State of Public Education in Virginia.
  • Join us for an Afternoon Recess: Coffee with Dean Robert Knoeppel.
  • Dr. Katherine Barko-Alva, assistant professor of ESL/Bilingual Education, and Dr. Jennifer Bickham Mendez, professor and chair of sociology, will present ongoing community-engaged research collaboration with the immigrant, Latine/x/o community in Eastern Virginia during our Faculty Research Brown Bag Talk.
