[PAST EVENT] Early Music Ensemble: Music of Hildegard of Bingen and her time

The W&M Early Music Ensemble, directed by Prof Ruth Griffioen, presents music of Hildegard of Bingen (1098 - 1179), in honor of her recent canonization and elevation to the status of Doctor of the Church. The program includes some of Hildegard's sacred chants and some sacred and secular instrumental music from Hildegard's time, played on period instruments such as recorders, gemshorns, rebec, vielle, gothic harp, psaltery and assorted reed instruments.
