Eliot Prize), as well as six works of fiction and two memoirs, A Lie About My Father and Waking Up in Toytown. The Times Literary Supplement described Burnside as "One of the most gifted poets writing today," and the Guardian praised Burnside's most recent book of poetry, Black Cat Bone, as "poignantly luminous" [an] "engrossing collection."
