You want to get started on your family history research, but where do you go to search for your ancestors? What resources are out there? And how much will this cost? Good news! An abundance of mostly free resources is available to help you get started and to dig deep.

We invite you to join us for the second in a series of genealogy workshops co-sponsored by William & Mary’s Bray School Lab and William & Mary Libraries. Join Elizabeth Drembus, genealogist at the Lab, and representatives from several local libraries to learn about the amazing resources here in the Williamsburg area, all available to the public, and mostly for free!

Elizabeth Drembus is leading efforts to identify and document the genealogical lines of all known Williamsburg Bray School students. Prior to joining William & Mary’s Bray School Lab, Elizabeth was a genealogist for the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and a member of the research team for the Virginia Theological Seminary’s Reparations Research Project. For over a decade, she has contributed her historical research expertise to projects in collaboration with local history organizations in Northern Virginia. Elizabeth credits her grandmother with sparking an interest in her family tree when she was in eighth grade.
