The William & Mary Symphony Orchestra closes the season with three unique works of clarity and excitement. The opening work, Valse Triste, an excerpt from the incidental music Sibelius wrote for the play Kuolema (Death), explores the depths of depression, which Sibelius knew all too well. Next, the orchestra will collaborate with the very talented Owen Yancey, winner of this year's WMSO Concerto Competition, on the opening movement of Grieg's Piano Concerto. Back for more craziness, Symphonie Fantastique, by Berlioz, will close the season in a frantic rush of passionate lust clashing with an opium overdose. This finale is not to be missed!
