Poet and biographer Nancy Schoenberger directed the Creative Writing Program at William & Mary before retiring in 2019. She’s the author of three prize-winning books of poetry (including Long Like a River, winner of the New York Poetry Prize.) Her poems have appeared in The New Yorker, The American Poetry Review, Poetry, and elsewhere. Her latest book of nonfiction is Blanche: The Life and Times of Tennessee Williams’s Greatest Creation. Schoenberger’s two previous single-author books are Wayne and Ford: The Films, The Friendship, and the Forging of an American Hero (to strong reviews in The Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal) and Dangerous Muse: The Life of Lady Caroline Blackwood. Schoenberger has also co-authored several books, including The Fabulous Bouvier Sisters and Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and the Marriage of the Century, both New York Times bestsellers.
