About this Series:
The "Research in Progress" Symposium Series is funded by the A&S Dean's Office and the Provost's Office. The goal of this series will be to provide a forum for early career faculty from the Arts & Sciences to present novel research ideas they are pursuing. This venue will bring together research-active W&M faculty who are eager to share their creative research ideas and projects and are seeking feedback, discussion, collaboration, and community amongst their peers. The focus will be on novel ideas, and preliminary data, rather than completed stories or funded projects. We believe that by fostering interactions between research-active faculty we can reduce research silos and further "strengthen W&M’s research ecosystem to spark new discovery"; a goal of Vision 2026.

Four symposia are planned for the following dates: September 21, 2023; November 16, 2023; February 2024 (TBD); and April 2024 (TBD). Each symposium will involve a 40-minute presentation and 20 minutes of discussion with the audience.
