[PAST EVENT] Ramadan
Ramadan holds great significance for Muslims worldwide. It is a holy month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from food, drink, and certain other physical needs from sunrise until sunset. Fasting during Ramadan is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and is observed to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad.
In addition to fasting, Muslims engage in increased prayer, recitation of the Quran, and acts of charity. Ramadan is a time for self-discipline, spiritual growth, and empathy for those less fortunate. It ends with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, a festive holiday that includes communal prayers, feasting, and giving of gifts. This year, Ramadan starts on March 10th and ends on April 8th.
