Join VIMS and Shored Up VA for a SHELL of a good time as we celebrate all things oysters and the Bay!

VIMS' exhibit will focus on our research on oyster genetics, breeding, aquaculture, and the diseases and parasites that impact them; as well as our recent work in restoring oysters in Sarah's Creek, VA. Our exhibit will include specimens that live on oyster reefs, microscopes, information on how you can help oysters in the Bay, and more!

The Shellabration festival will include additional exhibits and demonstrations focusing on oysters and the Bay from a variety of nonprofits, oyster farmers, and artists. Bull Island Brewing Company and The Landing Hotel's restaurants will be prepared to serve some delicious oyster stews, brews, and Virginia-sourced beverages. The Hard Times Band will be providing live music for this fun and free event!
