Desperate is a 9-minute documentary directed and produced by Zahra Rahimi, ‘28 and co-produced by Hosai Rasuli, Afghan American students who were seniors in high school at the time. The documentary includes real-life testimonials from three teenage girls who fled Afghanistan in August 2021 in the days following the fall of Kabul to the Taliban. Each speaks to their own experience of unexpectedly becoming a refugee and their hopes for their own future as well as for other women and girls in Afghanistan. Following the documentary will be a panel discussion about the film.
